Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost anything to submit a film?
Absolutely not! It is absolutely FREE to submit a film. You may also submit as many films as you like – but each film must be accompanied by a completed submission form.

Who is eligible to submit a film?
The TSFF is open to all students or to students who have already graduated from high school, provided that the student is under 21 years of age on January 1st of the festival year and that the film submitted was created while at high school and meets all other guidelines. Teachers or advisors may submit a film on behalf of their students. Please see Submission Guidelines.

What format should I submit my film in?
All films submitted must follow the specific TSFF Guidelines as outlined below.
--> Two copies of your film must be submitted: a DVD format (which can be played in a standard DVD player) and an electronic (.mov, .wmv, or .avi) copy of your film burned onto a data disc (.mov format is preferred for the electronic copy)
--> Attempt to export your film at 640 x 480 resolution, to the highest possible output quality. Please note that submissions sent at other resolutions or qualities will be made to fit 640 x 480

What is the deadline for entries?
Films must be received by the entry deadline as on the submisson form to be considered for awards. Films submitted after this date may be shown in screenings but are no longer eligible for awards.

Short films of 6 minutes or less in all genres are welcomed. You may use costumes, props, actors, and music --- but be advised that you should try to get artist’s approval of any copyrighted music (not mandatory, however).

FILMS MADE BY CELL PHONES are welcome!
